Cidco's revised policy to allot plots for religious purposes awaiting approval [Navi Mumbai] [Times of India]

(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NAVI MUMBAI: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) is waiting for government's approval and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from police to implement its revised policy in allotting plots for religious purposes. The policy, approved by the board of directors, states that local trusts with the minimum membership of 200 residents can seek for plot to set up small religious or spiritual units. The maximum area to be allotted under this policy will not exceed 2,000 sq m and not be less than 250 sq m. "The policy was revised so that the residents can have their own religious or spiritual structures. This will prevent encroachment of public areas or even vacant plots belonging to Cidco," said MD Sanjay Bhatia. According to sources, the organization has already identified over 200 plots for the purpose. "Node-wide analysis of population and breakup of religion practiced will be undertaken to determine the requirements. Advertisements for plots will be announced soon," said an official.
