Sage Group Appoints Stephen Kelly As Group CEO


(Alliance News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LONDON (Alliance News) - The Sage Group PLC said Wednesday that it has appointed Stephen Kelly as group chief executive officer, succeeding Guy Berruyer, with effect from November 5.

Kelly has served as chief operating officer for the UK Government, responsible to the Minister for the Cabinet Office since 2012. In the role he was responsible for Efficiency & Reform, as well as encouraging the government's agenda for small and medium-sized organisations.



Before this he held roles at at NASDAQ-listed Chordiant Software Inc and London Stock Exchange-listed Micro Focus International PLC.

Berruyer will retire as a director and as CEO on November 5, said the company, though will remain employed by Sage until March 31, 2015 so that he is available to support Kelly during the transition period as required.


On appointment, Kelly will receive a basic annual salary of GBP790,000, said Sage.

In July the company said that it remained on target to achieve its 6% organic revenue growth goal in 2015, as it saw revenue rise 4.3% in its third quarter. The company said that it saw revenue rise 4.7% in the first nine months of the year and that it expects its performance in the fourth quarter to be stronger than its third though said it remained cautious in its outlook for payments growth in the last quarter of the year.
