Softbank selects Syniverse's IPX platform for LTE roaming [TeleGeography CommsUpdate]

(TeleGeography CommsUpdate Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Japanese cellco Softbank Mobile has signed an agreement with Syniverse, under which the US-based vendor will deliver next-generation IP-based services to Softbank customers through its IPX Network Solution. The platform provides a one-connection-to-multiple-services approach, which aims to lower costs and boost operational efficiencies by reducing the number of network connections a mobile service provider must manage. According to a joint press release, the agreement provides a seamless end-to-end environment for Softbank Mobile to deliver interoperable Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) services, and it represents Syniverse's first IPX customer in the country.
