ISPE Names John Bournas as CEO [Health & Beauty Close - Up]


(Health & Beauty Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ISPE said that it has hired John Bournas as President and CEO, succeeding Nancy Berg who announced plans to leave the Society last fall.

In its release, ISPE said that Bournas takes the helm with extensive competencies in the healthcare association industry as well as significant international experience. He brings to the Society a clear vision for the expansion of its global initiatives and business operations including leveraging technology to extend ISPE's Membership and educational programs.



"I am certain that with John Bournas' experience, ISPE is well positioned for continued success," said Damian Greene, Chairman of the ISPE Board of Directors. Greene added, "ISPE has achieved many major milestones during the past few years, including solidifying partnerships with global regulators and spearheading high profile initiatives such as the Drug Shortages Prevention Plan. Under John's leadership, ISPE will continue to grow these partnerships and initiatives, building on the pharmaceutical industry knowledge and expertise that exists across our 20,000 strong global Membership." John Bournas is currently CEO/Executive Director of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), an international healthcare organization, officially recognized by the World Health Organization and comprised of 127 country-based societies, where he led growth of the group's mission and awareness raising; executed successful corporate affairs partnerships and evolved the group's digital delivery of educational programs and content. Prior to WFH, he was Senior Director of International Affairs at the American College of Cardiology, a global professional society for cardiologists, where he advanced international membership and Chapter establishment abroad; Senior Director, International at Cardinal Health and was a former diplomat, with postings in Chile, Australia and Japan.
