HAL LENDS ITS MITE TO TECHNICAL EDUCATION


(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has decided to sponsor students at the master's level in technology and development programmes at the Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. HAL's support will be in the form of five fellowships for MTech students at CTARA and these students will undertake relevant research in their second year. HAL's intention is aimed at boosting the supply of specialised technical professionals in development sector as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. HAL's initiatives are also seen as an example of industry-academia collaboration. The fellow will bring about new innovations, practices and research to key programmes and activities necessary to serve needs of the vast majority of Indians that are from the lower strata of the society.
