Draper begins term as chairman of the RVCC Board [Ruidoso News, N.M. :: ](Ruidoso News (NM) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 24--The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce has a new chairman of the board of directors. Lincoln County Commissioner Dallas Draper was recently elected chairman of the board, replacing Brad Treptow. Draper took the helm July 1. For the past 25 years, Draper has been a stalwart presence in Ruidoso's hospitality industry where he has served as the director of food and beverage for the Ruidoso Jockey Club, director of food and beverage for the Inn of the Mountain Gods, general manager of the Enchantment Inn and district manager for LRC. He is currently the food and beverage director for Rainmakers Golf Club. Draper is also a Realtor for Pinnacle Real Estate where he has been an agent for several years. Prior to becoming involved in the hospitality industry, Draper owned Ruidoso Gun & Pawn for five years before selling it. His civic involvement includes the board of directors for Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce, board of directors for EcoServants, Lodger's Tax Committee, board member of the Boys and Girls Club and Ruidoso Little League Baseball. "I love working with Dallas," said RVCC Executive Director Becky Brooks. "He's been on the board the past three years. He's going to be a great asset to the chamber. He's a county commissioner and we like to stay involved with the village as well as the county. This helps us keep a finger on the pulse of what's going on in both. I know he's very excited." Draper could not be reached for comment, but Brooks said that he held his first board meeting Wednesday. "He's highly qualified. The chamber is stronger than it has been in many, many years.
