School of Business Recognized for Recent ACBSP Accreditation

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LYNCHBURG, Va., July 24 -- Liberty University issued the following news release: The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) formally recognized Liberty University School of Business (http://www.liberty.edu/academics/index.cfm?PID=149) at its annual conference in June after granting Liberty accreditation last November (http://www.liberty.edu/index.cfm?PID=18495&MID=107227).

School of Business leadership attended the conference, which was held in Chicago on June 29.

"The faculty and staff of the School of Business are honored and very excited to achieve ACBSP accreditation status," said Dr. Scott Hicks, dean of the School of Business. "This has been a multi-year task that has involved not only the School of Business, but the university as a whole. I am so proud of our team. This significant accomplishment competitively positions the School of Business among distinguished peer institutions by adding value to the students that we serve, Liberty University, and most importantly, the Lord." Douglas G. Viehland, executive director of ACBSP, spoke on the accomplishment of the member institutions.

"These institutions have shown their commitment to teaching excellence by their participation in the accreditation process and their achievement of accreditation," he said. "ACBSP is proud to assist these schools and programs in their commitment to quality business programs. We recognize their educational practices that contribute to the continuous improvement of business education." ACBSP is a specialized accreditation association for business education that supports, celebrates, and rewards teaching excellence. It promotes continuous improvement and recognizes excellence in the accreditation of business education programs around the world. ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate through doctoral degree programs.

For institutions that achieve accreditation for their business schools and programs, attaining ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within that institution meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
