Before your trip, the Company invites you to log on to www.airfrance.com, or its new mobile version, to ensure a stress-free journey through the airport. Air France advice on preparing your trip Check in before your trip On the Air France website and its mobile version, you can check in and choose your seat beginning 30 hours before your departure time and up to the latest check-in time. You can also print out your boarding pass or receive it directly by mail or SMS on your smartphone, and check all the essential information you need to know about your trip, notably your baggage allowance and airport formalities. Packing your bags quickly and easily When travelling within Metropolitan France and to over fifty long-haul destinations (Africa, Asia, Middle East and the Caribbean), you can now print out your baggage tags along with your boarding pass on a standard A4 sheet of paper. The maximum weight of each of your checked baggage items must not exceed 23 kilos except if you are travelling in the Business or La Premiere cabin, or if you are a member of Flying Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum, Elite or Elite Plus. To find out how many bags you can transport in the hold on your next trip along with the maximum authorized weight of each item, baggage information is available in the 'preparing your trip' section on www.airfrance.com. For any excess baggage (baggage weight / number of bags / baggage dimensions), additional charges will be made at the airport depending on your destination. All rates are available online. Over and above this baggage allowance, you can purchase an additional allowance in just a few clicks online and benefit from a 20% discount on the price you pay at the airport. This summer, at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, you can now pay for your excess baggage in euros (cash) at one of the dedicated automatic cashpoints. Fast and easy to use, these cashpoints are being tested for three months and are located near the check-in areas in terminals G and E. A few rules to remember on board When travelling in the Economy cabin, one piece of carry-on baggage is allowed free of charge in the cabin, whose dimensions must not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm (pockets, wheels and handles included). In addition, passengers can take with them one small accessory such as a handbag, laptop or camera. Passengers travelling in Premium Economy, Business and La Premiere cabins are allowed to carry additional baggage. All cabin baggage and accessories must not exceed 12 or 18 kilos, depending on your travel class. Before boarding, passengers' bags are checked, so be careful not to put any kind of item which could be considered dangerous (weapons, knives, scissors, razor blades, nail clippers, etc.). They will be automatically taken away from you at the security checkpoint, as well as containers of liquids with a capacity greater than 100ml. New security measures on flights to the United States and Canada US and Canadian authorities have requesting airlines to step up security measures on boarding flights to the United States and Canada. These measures were implemented on July 8th 2014 for all flights to the United States and on July 15th 2014 for all flights to Canada. Before your trip on an Air France flight to the United States or Canada at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, arrive early at the airport and check in online at www.airfrance.com. All your electronic devices (telephones, tablets, computers, e-books, games consoles, cameras, camcorders, etc.) in hand baggage must be presented charged and in full working order when boarding. If there is a check on an uncharged or defective device, Air France will be obliged to refuse boarding on the flight with the device in question. The Company also strongly recommends you pack your battery chargers in your hand baggage. Once in the boarding lounge, you will have time to recharge your devices until the end of boarding for your flight.
