(Saudi Press Agency (Saudi Arabia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Washington, Ramadan 27, 1435, Jul 24, 2014, SPA -- US stocks mixed Wednesday, as investors weighed earnings from companies including Boeing and Apple.

In corporate news, Apple shares rose, a day after the iPhone maker posted profits that beat expectations. Microsoft shares rose after the software giant reported better-than-expected revenue. Boeing turned lower after the aerospace giant reported quarterly profit and hiked its full-year forecast. PepsiCo rose after the beverage maker reported revenue that topped expectations.



The dollar rose against the currencies of major U.S. trading partners. Light sweet crude oil for September delivery gained 73 cents to $103.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures fell $1.60 to $1,304.70 an ounce.

The Dow Jones industrial average lost 26.65, or 0.16 percent, to 17,086.89. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 3.51, or 0.18 percent, to 1,987.01. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index added 17.68, or 0.40 percent, to 4,473.70.
