RLM Finsbury, a global leader in strategic communications and a trusted adviser to many of the world's most successful companies, announced today that Kal Goldberg, a former Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, has joined the company as Partner. Based in New York, Mr. Goldberg will further strengthen RLM Finsbury's M&A practice, adding to its U.S. proficiency in this area to provide an unparalleled global offering.

Mr. Goldberg brings a wealth of M&A communications experience to the company, having advised on a number of high-profile transactions, including representing NASDAQ/OMX in its acquisitions of Thomson Reuters' Multimedia Solutions Businesses and the eSpeed platform, Allstate in its acquisition of Esurance and Answer Financial, KPN (News - Alert) in its successful hostile bid for iBasis, Constellation Energy in its investment from EDF and subsequent merger with Exelon, the Chicago Board of Trade in its merger with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and, most recently, CorpBanca in defending its merger with Itaú-Unibanco against litigation brought by activist fund Cartica Management.

Mr. Goldberg managed communications for the restructurings of American Suzuki Motor Corporation, Arcapita Bank and NewPage Corporation, as well as on the IPOs of FXall, RiskMetrics and NYMEX. He also has strong experience n proxy fights, senior leadership transitions, regulatory issues, board-level investigations, accounting issues and corporate governance concerns. Transactions led by Mr. Goldberg have received wide financial and communications industry recognition, including "Consumer Deal of the Year" in 2014 from M&A Advisor and "IPO of the Year" in 2007 from IR Magazine.

At FTI Consulting, Mr. Goldberg led the special situations practice within the firm's strategic communications segment, where he directed teams focused on advising managements and boards on various financial and crisis matters. Prior to FTI, Mr. Goldberg was an investment banker with Avalon Group, where he executed financial transactions for retail companies, including leveraged buyouts and private placements. He was previously a senior member of Hill and Knowlton's corporate and financial practice. He holds an MBA in finance from NYU's Stern School of Business and is a graduate of Washington University.
