(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 July 23, 2014 - Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged by members of the press and industry analysts, today announced the winners in its second annual global competition. Over 200 entries were received in this year's awards program from an impressive array of public and private companies representing more than 30 countries and a variety of industries and sectors.

"The quality of entries was very high in sectors that are critical to the future of the economy," said Damon Kitney, business editor at The Australian. "In the end, my choice came down to which business will have the most transformative impact, and it was hard to split them because they all are doing this in different ways." "The variety of entries in the 'Best Place To Work' category was very interesting and I loved their diversity – from startups to well-entrenched brands like DHL competing for the top honor," said Preethi Chamikutty, executive editor at YourStory.com (India). "It is nice to see companies taking such good care of their workforce. Companies that belonged to industries such as services and hospitality had a slight edge above others because of the nature of the business itself: service and hospitality industries have a great focus on customer satisfaction, and their customers can only be kept happy by happy employees." Winners of Best in Biz Awards 2014 International were determined based on scoring from a panel of 27 judges drawn from top-tier news, business, finance, and technology publications and media outlets from 17 countries, with all continents represented. This year's judging panel included writers and contributors to such publications as Asian Power (Singapore), Australian (Australia), Bennett Business Connections (Canada), Canadian Business (Canada), Computer Hoy (Spain), CTV (Canada), Gamers Intuition (United States), Gizmodo and Lifehacker (Australia), HTMobile (Israel), Huffington Post (United States), IAA Magazine (United Arab Emirates), InBusiness (Cyprus and Greece), Irish Independent (Ireland), J Arnold & Associates (Canada), Kaiser The Sage (Philippines), Mumbrella and Encore Magazine (Australia), PC Authority (Australia), Stuff.co.nz (New Zealand), TechHim (India), TechnoFILE.com (Canada), The Engaging Brand (United Kingdom), Vyapar (India), Ventures Africa (Nigeria), Wirausaha & Keuangan (Indonesia), WirelessDuniya (India), Xbox Plus (Brazil) and YourStory.in (India).

"Under the category 'Executive of the Year' in Best in Biz Awards 2014 International, it was inspiring reading about the good work done by several CEO's and top executives," said Manjula Ramakrishnan, IAA Magazine (United Arab Emirates), who has judged several EMEA competitions in the past. "Their work was all the more laudable, for it was not just about the upward spiral of the company, or making the bottom line look good; it also included Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and involving the organization in meaningful community activities. In addition, it was amply evident that employee empowerment was of paramount importance, which again brought into honed focus the commendable business philosophy adopted by the leaders who are at the helm of company affairs." Best in Biz Awards is now accepting entries in its fourth annual North American program, open to any company from any industry based in or operating in North America.
