Damballa Adds Leadership in Asia Pacific & Japan Region
ATLANTA --(Business Wire)--
Damballa, the experts in advanced
threat protection and containment, today announced the appointment
of Daniel Schneersohn as Vice President, Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ)
Schneersohn has more than 20 years of IT experience with APJ
multinational corporations and local startups. He is skilled at
establishing and leading businesses across multiple Asian countries
including Japan, with primary responsibilities focused on revenue growth.
"We continue to see strong demand for Damballa's technology in
high-growth markets where financial and politically-motivated threats
are translating into increased security budgets," explained David
Scholtz, CEO of Damballa. "With APJ security spending projected to
outpace the rest of the world over the next several years1,
we want to equip channel partners with security offerings that go beyond
prevention. Daniel's leadership and experience in the region will enable
to help more enterprises, communications service providers and public
sector institutions build their advanced threat protection capabilities."
As a business leader, Schneersohn most recently served as founder and
managing director of Chez Patrick Group Limited, an independent French
restaurant group. Prior to that he was the founder and CEO of Realease
Limited, a designer and producer of Internet tablets.
Schneersohn has also spent more than a decade in the security ndustry,
serving in sales and leadership roles at Astaro Corporation (now part of
Sophos), NetScreen Technologies (acquired by Juniper Networks) and
Symantec (News - Alert) Corporation. His experience with these companies includes
company expansions in the APAC market, channel partner program
development, and customer relationship management.
Damballa's decision to increase its presence in the APJ market can be
attributed to the projected increase in security spending and strong
ongoing demand for the company's products from existing local partners.
"The APAC region is more likely to be attacked than any other region in
the world, whether that is due to the concentration of intellectual
property in the region or the competitiveness of the economy in
general," said Schneersohn. "The sooner you identify an active threat
with absolute certainty, the sooner it can be stopped, and damage can be
minimized. That is what makes Damballa's advanced threat technology so
compelling to enterprises, communications providers and government
agencies. I'm excited to be joining the Damballa leadership team and
look forward to helping APAC enterprises prevent loss of their data,
intellectual property, finances and reputation due to cyber-security
As part of the company's expanded presence in the market, Damballa CTO,
Brian Foster will be presenting at the upcoming RSA (News - Alert) Conference Asia
Pacific & Japan Conference taking place July 22-23 in Singapore. Foster
