CIO Annual Golf Putts At Nyali


(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The fifth annual CIO Golf Tournament took place at the Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa. The event also celebrates CIO East Africa's anniversary and is an important part of the tech publisher's event calendar.



The sports event brought to the golf course CIOs, IT managers and corporate executives, providing a good platform for them to network and share knowledge among end user IT professionals and technology providers.

Sponsoring the event was logistics company DHL Express Kenya, telecommunications giant Airtel Kenya, network security appliances provider Cyberoam, technological business solutions provider Pergamon and IT systems integrator XRX Technologies.


Speaking at the event's awards ceremony was CIO East Africa's CEO, Harry Hare who said that ICT had become an important part in the daily functions of any business and that its importance could no longer be overlooked. He continued to say that CIO Golf provided a good platform for business professionals to meet and network with their IT counterparts, in order to foster good business relationships that would further push their businesses to greater heights.

Alan Cassels, the Country Manager for DHL Express, emphasized on the importance of application of modern technology in the logistics industry so as to effectively enhance service delivery and keep up with the increasing demands of the clientele.

Atul Patel was crowned the overall winner of the tournament with 39 points while the ladies winner was Fatma Mohammed and Sanjin Dhutia led the junior category with 42 points.

CIO East Africa is the largest magazine for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry in East Africa and highlights ICT investment opportunities, innovation, intellectual property and trends of the converging technologies. The publication is available in print, web and mobile.
