Briefly: Qplay Video to shut down, Xbox One August update preview


(United News of Bangladesh Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dhaka, July 21 (UNB) - TiVo's video service, Qplay, is due to be shut down on July 25, 2014. The company provides a media streaming TV adapter and mobile video app, and has only been running for six months. According to its blog, Qplay states that it is "not possible for [it] to keep developing and running the service. Users who have purchased a TV Adapter device can receive a refund upon request, if made prior to July 25, 2014 and 5pm PST.



Xbox One is due to receive a scheduled update in August. The main focus of the update pertains to the friends list, which will allow gamers to see what their friends have been playing, and a new Gamerscore leaderboard can display game rankings. Players' activity feeds will allow "liking" and commenting. Blu-ray 3D playback, a new low battery notification for controllers, and OneGuide support in Brazil, Mexico, Austria and Ireland are also anticipated in the new release.
