CFO Jeff Atwater Reappoints Chris Gardner as Chairman of Citizens Board of Governors(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TALLAHASSEE, Fla., July 11 -- The Florida Department of Financial Services issued the following news release: Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater today announced the reappointment of Chris Gardner as Chairman of the Board of Governors for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. Gardner, who was originally appointed chairman in August 2013, is an appointee to the board by Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford, who recently reappointed Gardner for a three-year term. "Chris has proven he has the skill, experience and leadership necessary to make Citizens more accountable and beneficial to its ratepayers as well as all of Florida's taxpayers," said CFO Atwater. "I continue to have high expectations of Chris, and I look forward to seeing the steps he takes to ensure Citizens stays well-equipped and ready to help Floridians in their greatest times of need." Gardner is a resident of Winter Park who has 21 years of experience in the retail insurance brokerage business with a specific focus in Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance. He has served as a member of the Citizens board since his appointment in July 2011. "I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as Chairman of the Citizens Board, and I am honored that CFO Atwater has trusted me to make sure Citizens continues to protect Florida's property owners," said Chairman Gardner. Gardner is the managing shareholder of Kuykendall Gardner, LLC, a Florida based insurance broker doing business since 1953. He has been a past chairman of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and is a past vice chairman of the City of Orlando Municipal Planning Board.
