ITI Announces senior House Energy and Commerce Committee counsel Shannon Taylor as Director of Government Affairs and Legislative Counsel

The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) is strengthening its government affairs team with the addition of long-time House Energy and Commerce Committee counsel Shannon Taylor as the organization's new Director of Government Affairs and Legislative Counsel. Taylor begins her new role on Monday, July 21, and will be a lead government affairs liaison with members of the House of Representatives.
"Shannon is a welcome addition to our government affairs team," said ITI Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Andy Halataei. "With her background providing trusted counsel and policy guidance to the House Energy and Commerce Committee on issues of importance for the tech sector, Shannon will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ITI's member companies."
Taylor has more than 11 years of legislative affairs experience. She most recently served for eight years as a counsel for commerce, manufacturing, and trade on the House Energy and Commerce Committee where her work included privacy, data breach, and patent demand letter policies. Prior to her work on the Energy and Commerce Committee, Taylor was a counsel on what is now the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. She began her career on Capitol Hill working as a legislative counsel to Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-PA) handling his energy and commerce, financial services, judiciary and ways and means issue portfolio.
