United States : Brazil's Agility Networks Signs Agreement to Provide Stoke's LTE Security Gateways to Mobile Operator Customers [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Stoke, the LTE security gateway leader, and Brazil-based systems integrator Agility Networks have signed a reseller agreement to provide Stoke's LTE security gateways to its mobile operator customers.

According to recent analyst reports, the successful rollout of Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks in Brazil is key to the country's smartphone market growth. Technical cooperation, and LTE network sharing in particular, are important economic strategies for domestic operators. Four Brazilian mobile operators TIM Brasil with Oi, and Vivo with Claro - have announced infrastructure-sharing agreements for their deployment of LTE networks. Brazil's telecom regulator, Anatel, has released definitions regarding spectrum frequency band sharing, including the requirement to secure each operator's traffic with IPsec security.

Driven by major events including the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, Brazil leads the South American region in LTE adoption and Anatel reports record uptake in recent months. Out of the 273 million mobile phones in operation in Brazil, about 2.4 million handsets are LTE-ready. 4G Americas predicts that LTE usage will experience an annual growth rate of close to 100% for the next five years.

Agility Networks, a provider of design, implementation and support services to Brazilian mobile broadband operators and enterprises for over 20 years, has added Stoke technology to its portfolio in response to customer demand and the explosive growth in LTE subscriptions across Brazil.

"Telecoms organizations using a shared network require IPSec because they and their customers need to be assured that their voice and data traffic has been secured and encrypted at every stage until it reaches its trusted destination," said Carlos Teixeira, President of Agility Networks. "Our operator customers are increasingly looking for a proven and reliable security gateway and we are pleased to add the Stoke solution to our portfolio to complement other solutions with RAN-agnostic IPsec encryption and traffic optimization." As LTE adoption accelerates, operators are increasingly using multivendor radio networks, but require a common, RAN agnostic security solution that will aggregate, encrypt and optimize traffic, before it enters the operator's evolved packet core (EPC). The Stoke SSX-3000 security gateway interoperates with all major radio access network (RAN) vendors, and has been proven in multiple international deployments and tests.

"Agility Networks is renowned for its ability to deliver innovative, effective and reliable infrastructure solutions for the evolving IT and mobile telecommunications environments across Brazil, and for their deep expertise in security," said Mark Verdun, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Stoke. "We are very pleased to be part of their portfolio of advanced networking technologies." (c) 2014 Euclid Infotech Pvt. Ltd. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
