The Chief Minister was speaking at a launch event for DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) Protection which was attended by a broad spectrum of the company's clients. He also praised the company's continued commitment to introducing new technology which was helping to support the Government's drive for growth in the e-Business sector. He also detailed some high-profile examples which illustrate the increasing sophistication of hackers - such as the recent Anonymous 'hacktivist' group on the websites of some of the global brands which sponsor the FIFA World Cup. This example of a threat to some of the world's biggest companies, he said, showed the scale and complexity of the security challenge facing businesses, especially those with a significant online presence.
