Telecoms firm wins top industry certification [Newcastle Journal (England)]

(Newcastle Journal (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GATESHEAD-BASED IT and telecoms provider Advantex Network Solutions Ltd is looking to secure further growth after achieving the security industry's highest professional certification.

The fast-growing firm has gained the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) NACOSS Gold Award, widely regarded by industry, the police, the fire and rescue services and insurers as the top mark for quality.

Advantex, which has sales of Pounds 4m and currently employs 40 people, supplies and supports a range of IP (Internet Protocol) camera systems and infrastructure services to regional and national customers such as GE Wellstream, The Gambling Commission, Nissan, SCS, Redcar and Cleveland College and Gateshead College.

It is the only North East IT firm - and one of only a handful nationally - to have gained the gold standard and achieved certification in less than three months The NSI, formerly known as NACOSS, is an independent, not-forprofit approvals' body providing inspection services for the security and fire industries.

The NACOSS Gold approval - NSI's premier approval scheme - is awarded to firms that deliver the highest standards of service through ISO 9000 quality management as well as the relevant British and European standards.

NSI's service delivery director, Kay Aitkin said: "By choosing to become approved by NSI, Advantex can reassure their customers that their business practices are being regularly and robustly scrutinised by the UK's leading certification body for the security industry."
