Red Ventures to close Miramar office [Sun Sentinel :: ](South Florida Sun Sentinel (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 02--Marketing firm Red Ventures will close its Miramar office Sept. 19, eliminating 225 jobs there. Red Ventures, a South Carolina company, is consolidating sales operations in the Carolinas, said Maghan Cook, director of communications. Red Ventures partners with companies in entertainment, energy and other fields to bring them customers, according to its website. Its customers have included DirecTV and ADT Security Systems. "It may sound counterintuitive, but this move is to facilitate more growth," Cook said. "Our sales forces are more successful when they are close to our headquarters." Red Ventures notified the state of the closing this week. More than 100 employees will move to the company's Charlotte offices before September. The "vast majority" of Miramar employees were offered relocation packages, Cook said. Cook said Red Ventures has flown employees and their families to Charlotte to sell them on the area. "It was really important for us to give people a lot of runway and time to make their decision," she said. For employees who chose not to make the move, the company has offered career counseling, job fairs and other support services.
