Iron.io Introduces Carrier-Grade Enterprise Offerings

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Iron.io today introduced IronMQ Enterprise, a major upgrade to its high availability message queue with enterprise-level reliability for public and hybrid clouds, and for the first time, on-premise options for enterprises, carriers and other large organizations.

"Iron.io is the only message queue provider that offers high-availability services within public clouds as well as on-premise hybrid cloud capabilities," said Chad Arimura, CEO and co-Founder of Iron.io. "IronMQ Enterprise takes a big step forward in cloud message queuing, giving organizations far greater options to build out and orchestrate more responsive, fault-tolerant systems."

A messaging layer is a standard part of every major cloud architecture profile and is critical in creating a reliable, scalable cloud system. Message queues enable work dispatch, load buffering, transaction processing, database offloading, micro-services support and many other core needs. IronMQ is a cloud-native message queue built specifically for large-scale public and private cloud applications and systems.

IronMQ offers advanced messaging options like push queues and long-polling, providing simple and secure access using HTTP/REST APIs and OAuth authentication. It's built to be distributed across multiple availability zones and geographic regions, guaranteeing one-time message delivery and fault tolerance via message persistence and replication, redundant systems and automatic failover. Additional capabilities include message retries, error queues, triggers and alerts and advanced real-time monitoring options. The IronMQ Enterprise offering also adds a more flexible gateway for supporting other messaging protocols including Amazon's SQS and OpenStack's Marconi protocol.

"IronMQ has handled billions of messages a month at production scale for customers since 2011," says Travis Reeder, CTO and co-founder of Iron.io. "This usage has allowed us to translate the needs and demands of cloud developers into a number of technical improvements that far surpass prior generations of messaging solutions. Our work on IronMQ Enterprise eliminates outside dependencies, improves throughput and latency and makes for a high-performance persistent messaging solution than can be deployed in hrizontally scalable configurations across multiple zones and regions."

IronMQ is currently offered as a high availability service operating within AWS and Rackspace (News - Alert) public clouds. Later this summer, Iron.io will expand distribution to additional public clouds as well as offer private cloud installations built using OpenShift, OpenStack and Cloud Foundry. The IronMQ Enterprise offerings allow Iron.io to extend deployments from the current handful of public cloud installations to hundreds of data centers around the world.

Iron.io's largest customers transmit millions of messages and process tens of thousands of compute hours a day, making Iron.io one of the largest cloud message queuing and asyc processing platforms available today. Iron.io is used by some of the Internet's most rapidly growing businesses including Hotel Tonight, YouNow, Airbrake, Untappd, and Bleacher Report. More than 2,000 customers use Iron.io to scale their workloads and build more responsive systems while removing the complexity that plague traditional approaches to creating high-scale distributed systems.

Pricing and Availability

IronMQ Enterprise is available now for downloading and evaluation at http://www.iron.io/enterprise. It is built in Go and can be installed from binary files or as a Docker image. The evaluation edition takes minutes to install and provides message persistence, multi-tenancy, one-time guaranteed delivery and the same features, capabilities and access methods as the public cloud version. A multi-cluster version will be available later this summer. Several pricing options are available including single datacenter, multi-datacenter and carrier grade options and can include managed hosting and 24/7 support options. For more information on pricing of high availability versions, please contact the Iron.io sales team or visit http://www.iron.io/enterprise.
