David Hoover Named NTCA Vice President of Legislative Affairs


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ARLINGTON, Va., June 30 -- NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association issued the following news release: NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, the premier national association representing nearly 900 independent, community-based telecommunications providers, announced today that David Hoover has been named vice president of legislative affairs and will oversee the association's strategic government relations initiatives beginning July 7.



Prior to joining NTCA, Hoover served as director of government affairs for CTIA-The Wireless Association. He also served in leadership roles for the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, Legg Mason Precursor Group and a number of other research firms.

Hoover has nearly 20 years of experience working in Washington, conducting research and analyzing federal policies, as well as building relationships with members of Congress, federal agencies and public interest groups in support of advocacy efforts.


"David has a unique understanding of the financial and business model impacts of policymaking on telecommunications operators," said Shirley Bloomfield, NTCA chief executive officer. "We are thrilled to welcome him into this new role." Hoover earned a Master of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University's College of Communications Arts & Sciences and a Bachelors of Science from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.
