United States : ULTRA ELECTRONICS lands submarine systems contract [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ultra Electronics, a defence services company has announced that its EMS Development Corporation business, based in New York has bagged a multi-year contract to make naval computer controlled power supply systems for General Dynamics Electric Boat.



The $21m deal is for the production of naval computer controlled power supply systems (Circuit-D).

Deliveries will occur during the next five years.


According to the group, EMS first designed the Circuit-D system in 1997 for the new Virginia Class Submarine programme.

The Circuit-D system is considered a critical electronic system for the platform.

The FTSE 250-listed company has designed and manufactured hundreds of systems for navies globally comprising the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Spain, and Korea.
