Jay Lewis Named Fellow of the American Vacuum Society


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., June 23 -- RTI International issued the following news release: Jay Lewis, Ph.D., director of emerging electronics technologies at RTI International, was named a fellow of the American Vacuum Society for his contributions to the development of nanostructured optoelectronic devices.



The American Vacuum Society (https://www.avs.org/) is an interdisciplinary society that includes an international community of scientists, engineers and instrument manufacturers. The society promotes research and communicates knowledge in the areas of surface, interface, vacuum, and thin film science/technology.

At RTI, Lewis has conducted research in the areas of optoelectronics, organic electronics, flexible electronics and thermoelectric technologies. His research has been published in more than 30 peer-reviewed articles.


Lewis was also recently promoted to senior member in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, (http://www.ieee.org/index.html) the world's largest professional association on the advancement of technology. Only seven percent of the IEEE's 431,000 members have been named a senior member, the highest professional grade of the IEEE.

Lewis holds a doctorate and master's degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Florida, and a bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
