PMO Advisory Introduces PfMP Certification Exam Prep Book

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Cedar Grove, NJ (PRWEB) June 24, 2014 PMO Advisory (http://www.pmoadvisory.com), a management consulting firm that helps organizations bridge the gap from ideas to execution, today announced the pending release of a new study guide for professionals studying for their certification in Advanced Portfolio Management. "The Sensible Guide to Passing the PfMP Exam" was developed specifically for project management professionals seeking certification as a Portfolio Management Professional (PfMPSM) by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). The printed book is already available on Amazon.com, and the e-book will be available soon.

PMO Advisory is in a unique position to offer this study guide, since the firm specializes in program and project management, process improvement, and business transformation. PMO Advisory's founder and CEO Te Wu, who developed the study guide, is one of the few professionals in the world to have PMI certification in Project Management (PMP), Program Management (PgMP), and Portfolio Management (PfMP). Wu also is a college professor and PMO Advisors has assisted a number of professionals to advance their careers in project and portfolio management.

The PMI is still in the process of finalize the new PfMP certification exam, so "The Sensible Guide to Passing the PfMP Exam" is designed to help certification candidates consider new ways to approach portfolio management with exam tips, practice questions, and more experience-based examples.

"I chose to use a Socratic approach in developing this book, using questions and answers to promote strategic thinking and a deeper understanding of portfolio management, " said Wu. "Candidates must have extensive practical portfolio management experience to qualify for a PfMP certificate, and this study guide will help them organize their thinking and extend their industry knowledge." PMO Advisory recently announced a PfMP preparation course for portfolio professionals. Offered as a group study, the PfMP prep course includes instruction and practice tests as well as a copy of "The Sensible Guide to Passing the PfMP Exam." "The PfMP is the most advanced certification that PMI has developed to date," stated Wu. "Our book was created with the busy portfolio executive in mind, providing practical information that they can use on the job as well as on the exam. The book is also designed as a companion guide for managing large portfolios or projects and programs." To qualify for PfMP certification professionals must have secondary education degree with at least seven years of portfolio management experience within the past 15 years, or a four-year college degree with four years of portfolio management experience within the last 15 years. All applicants also must have at least eight years of practical business experience.
