Currently out capabilities include the following: Software The Town GIS utilizes the Esri software program "ArcGIS for Desktop Basic". We currently have one desktop standard with extensions primary maintenance annual license, one single-use primary maintenance annual license, four single-use secondary maintenance annual licenses and three ArcPad Maintenance annual licenses installed in the Department of Community Development. Department of Public Works. Tax Assessor and Engineering Departments. We are running version 10.2.1. Data Our database consists of numerous layers, which are all projected to Rhode Island Slate Plane Coordinate System. NAD 83 - Feet coordinates. For vector layers, we have slate-wide coverages, downloaded from R1GIS. They include the following: boundaries, cultural resources, demographic data, geology, hydrology, landuse, open space, soils, transportation, utilities and wetlands. Our town-wide vector coverages include the following: buildings, parcels, topography (2% elevation contours), driveways, fences, floodplains. hydrology, landuse, parking, parks, paths, sidewalks, soils, vegetation, wetlands, and zoning. Our raster data includes 6" resolution color and infrared ortho-photography flown in 2007. The Town currently also uses aerial photography from 2011 provided by RIG1S. The Engineering Department has utility information in AutoCAD format, which can be converted to GIS format. The data includes fire hydrants, water mains, manholes and sewer lines. All of the data is housed on a shared server between the Community Development and Engineering Departments.
