Design Works eBook Celebrates the Most Impressive New Office Designs and Demonstrates How Business Objectives Manifest in Workplace Design
BOSTON --(Business Wire)--
IdeaPaint,
the leader and innovator in workplace collaboration technology, launched Design
Works, a new eBook that showcases new, award-winning office designs
and the positive impact these workplaces have had on strengthening
productivity, recruitment, employee moral and brand identity. A variety
of organizations are profiled in the eBook - from established stalwarts
like Velcro Industries to emerging firms such as Clypd and LogMeIn (News - Alert) -
with each profile focusing on the transformation that occurred during
the design process. Interior designers and architects from leading firms
and their corporate clients are interviewed about this transformation
process - sharing helpful advice and tips that will inspire and motivate
those involved in office design or re-design. The
Design Works eBook is available here.
"As the creator of the high-performance dry-erase paint category,
IdeaPaint has transformed 100,000 office spaces in 40 countries with
writable surface walls - so we have witnessed workplace transformations
of all kinds," said IdeaPaint President John Stephans. "In Design
Works, we partnered with forward thinking design firms and
businesses to demonstrate how business objectives and culture manifest
in workplace design to help drive business results."
Design Works readers will take a journey of workplace
transformation and witness the positive impact of a well-constructed
office design on company performance, morale and brand reinforcement.
Below is a snapshot of just a few of the organizations, architecture and
design firms profiled in Design Works:
-
EnerNOC
-
EnerNOC, a provider of energy intelligence software, worked with
Spagnolo, Gisness & Associates to create a breathtaking, lean,
green streamlined 8,000 square foot space in Boston's bustling
Seaport District.
-
HUGE
-
Leading digital agency HUGE worked with Abramson Teiger Architects
to transfor its Los Angeles office from a collection of gray
offices to a borderless space more conducive to circulating ideas
and organic dialogue. Tall glass walls, natural light and
IdeaPaint walls enhance the airy Southern California feel of the
office, warming teams, clients and visitors alike.
-
Clypd
-
Hot ad-tech firm Clypd has one of the most coveted workspaces with
its mid-century modern décor, custom bar and conference rooms
designed to look and feel like an actual living room. Clypd worked
with Haley McLane LLC, who created a welcoming communal space that
would attract and retain the best talent in the competitive
ad-tech market while adhering to Clypd's budget. The result is a
modern masterpiece.
-
LogMeIn
-
Fast-growing LogMeIn - provider of a suite of services that
include screen sharing app join.me and team-oriented cloud
solution Cubby - sought to turn their office into a veritable
playground in keeping with their "work is play" ethos. Boston
design firm Spagnolo Gisness & Associates created a dazzling
six-floor space that features a putting green, pool table,
floor-to-ceiling images of beaches in Australia and Knoll
sit-or-stand desks for LogMeIn's young, energetic staff of 350 to
enjoy and prosper.
-
Evernote
-
Redwood, CA (News - Alert)-based startup Evernote transformed their space - a
dull beige former insurance sales office - into a sunny open floor
plan with large IdeaPaint walls to invite collaboration. The open
offices are counterbalanced with the addition of four private
phone booths, which were installed to give workers the option of
privacy for phone calls or greater quiet and concentration.
Standard Studio, a San Francisco design firm, shares their tips
for introducing more transparency and trust into the workplace
culture through design.
-
Velcro Industries
-
Velcro Industries - known for its wildly successful, eponymous
hook and loop fastener technology - sought to open a new U.S.
office in Boston that would house its corporate level functions
including marketing, finance, human resources, consumer business
and brand management. The company found an ideal space in Boston's
booming downtown but sought an office look-and-feel that would
emulate its European headquarters with a more modern twist.
Working with Spanish interior designers Lorena Sauras and Luis
Eslava, Velcro transformed the original space, replacing 1960s
cubicles with an open floor plan featuring glass offices,
collaborative spaces and IdeaPaint walls.
"As evidenced from Design Works, writable surface walls continue
to be a favorite design component for organizations of all sizes," said
Stephans. "Today, they are a must have feature for new and
re-designed offices and we are pleased to be at the forefront of this
revolution."
Writable surfaces have emerged as one of the hottest design trends of
2014 - which coincides with an uptick in workplace design spending.
Organizations are poised to spend more on new and re-designed workspaces
in the coming years. According to the American Institute of Architects,
non-residential construction will grow by 7.2% in 2014. And, the
Interior Design Billings Index, produced by the American Society of
Interior Designers, projects steady, continuous growth in the office
design space this year. With this uptick in office building, design and
architecture projects, professionals in those industries are adding more
writable surfaces as a way to add instant value and creativity to new
and re-designed spaces quickly and cost-effectively.
