Amartus Integrates with OpenStack to Expand Run-Time Programmable Service Delivery Capability to Cloud

DUBLIN, Ireland --(Business Wire)--

Amartus, a leading innovator of dynamic, run-time programmable meta-model driven multi-vendor service management and orchestration software solutions for Telecoms, today announced its Chameleon Software-Defined Services (SDS) service deployment platform now supports integration with OpenStack.

This latest release provides operators with expanded capabilities to rapidly orchestrate and turn up end-to-end cloud and WAN services.

This OpenStack support is available via Chameleon SDS's unique 'on-the-fly' run-time loaded meta-data (XML configuration) architecture that allows Cloud service components to be introduced without the need for new code, recompilation or platform testing.

"Never before have I seen operators pursue new technology with the speed they are adopting cloud, NFV and SDN. While these technologies offer flexible, virtualized resources, operators need real-time service orchestration solutions like Chameleon SDS to quickly exploit their benefits in the services they offer," said Michael Kearns, Amartus CEO.

Through the integration, Chameleon SDS can leverage compute, network, strage and software resources that are managed by OpenStack and combine them with reliable, guaranteed WAN network services. At the core of this solution is the dynamic, run-time programmable service catalogue-based architecture of Chameleon SDS, which is already proven in the WAN for complex layer-two, and layer-three network services.

This shortens the time needed to design new services and automates service provisioning and operation so services can be turned up in a matter of minutes. As a result, Chameleon SDS matches the service velocity that is required to fully exploit the latest Cloud, NFV and SDN technologies.

OpenStack is the leading open source cloud operating system. It is designed to control large pools of compute, storage, and networking resources throughout a datacenter.

Operators Can See Solution in Action at Big Telecom Event

The company will demonstrate the OpenStack support at the Big Telecom Event (June 17-18 in Chicago) where attendees will be able to see cloud services deployed in a matter of minutes. Amartus will be in demo space #C6, in the Smarter Network Zone.

"The integration with OpenStack is an excellent demonstration of the lean, unified, real-time service orchestration carriers need to achieve the service velocity that is necessary in the cloud era while at the same time easing their migration from the physical to the virtual world," Kearns said.
