Blue Valley and Adtran Bring Economic Possibilities to Rural Kansas [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Adtran reported that as part of its Enabling Communities, Connecting Lives program, it is helping Blue Valley Tele- Communications (BVTC) advance strategic Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) initiatives to secure the economic future of nearly 7500 residential and business customers.

According to a release, leveraging Adtran's broadband portfolio, BVTC is taking a forward-thinking approach to reinventing its network infrastructure in northeastern Kansas. Based on Adtran's Total Access 5000 with Optical Networking Edge (ONE) solution, BVTC is building out both its access and transport networks from a single platform to more easily evolve, change and grow their network so they can deliver the services local communities need to remain competitive in a global economy.

Not only are businesses in northeastern Kansas driving commerce growth via BVTC's voice, video and data services, but local schools are participating in distance learning to better educate their students. The community is also benefiting from stronger medical care as doctors are now able to consult and share digitally transmitted medical data with colleagues around the world from the local hospitals.

BVTC is accomplishing this through its partnership with Adtran and deploying its broadband solutions.

"Blue Valley Tele-Communications has always believed in the impact technology can have on the economic progress and quality of life for our customers. It truly has the ability to keep our communities on an even playing field with national, and even global, competitors," said Jon Novak, project manager, Blue Valley Tele- Communications. "The versatility of Adtran's broadband solutions enable us to have a single vendor to partner with us in deploying transport and access services. That combined with Adtran's overall knowledge of the market helps us deliver best-in-class services while providing growing economic opportunities for our residents, businesses and community as a whole." "It is exciting to see what a difference Blue Valley Tele- Communications is making in their community. They are not only building out an infrastructure that is helping grow local prosperity today, but they are also setting the stage to affect long-term change in the economic viability of the residents and businesses that they serve," said Mitch Fleming, regional vice president, sales, Adtran Carrier Networks Division. "Adtran is committed to helping innovative service providers, like Blue Valley Tele- Communications, create new opportunities for their local communities by providing broadband solutions that help them evolve their networks and businesses." Adtran is a provider of networking and communications equipment.
