Five cell towers coming to Montgomery? [The Courier-Tribune, Asheboro, N.C. :: ]


(Courier-Tribune (Asheboro, NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) June 16--TROY -- Durham Tower has requested conditional use permits to build five cell phone towers in Montgomery County.

The county planning department will hold an information session with company officials on Wednesday, June 18, at 6 p.m. in the commissioners meeting room on the third floor of the county administration building, 102 E. Spring Street in Troy.



The public is encouraged to attend with questions, concerns or to express support for the towers.

The requests for the wireless telecommunication towers are: -- A 250-foot tower at 2672 River Road, Troy.


-- A 199-foot tower at 1743 N.C. 24/27 W., Troy.

-- A 250-foot tower at 342 Abner Road, Star.

-- A 250-foot tower at 1891 N.C. 134 N., Troy.

-- A 250-foot tower at 227 Roper Grove Church Road, Mt. Gilead.

The wireless tower construction company, located in Durham, has a website under construction, but no information online at this time.

A public hearing on the permit requests is scheduled for Monday, June 23, at 6 p.m., also in the county administration building.

These meetings are being held before the planning board makes a recommendation to the board of commissioners.
