Spirent Avalanche Virtual Helps NTT Communications Deliver Reliable and Secure Cloud Services to Enterprise Customers

Spirent Communications, a leader in testing networks, services and devices, announced today that the Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) capability of Spirent Avalanche Virtual was demonstrated for the first time within NTT Communications' Enterprise Cloud and Cloudⁿ platforms. The demonstration, coordinated by TOYO Corporation, Spirent's (News - Alert) exclusive partner in Japan, was showcased during Interop Tokyo 2014, June 11-13, where the offering received Best of Show special prize in the Cloud Service category.

Demonstration Highlights

Public and private cloud networks enable enterprises to leverage the cost savings and flexibility of virtualization. TaaS on a cloud platform helps IT teams validate that their cloud service provider is delivering high performance, secure services that meet the Quality of Service (QoS) levels and SLA requirements of the organization. Testing the cloud implementation from within helps to reduce the costs associated with downtime and to overcome the constraits of lab-based testing methodologies.

Spirent Avalanche Virtual's TaaS offering supports the latest application traffic patterns including YouTube (News - Alert), chat and online games, as well as the typical traffic types such as HTTP, FTP and mail, giving users the flexibility to adjust performance testing according to their traffic volume and to make changes as they occur in the workloads.
