Sage releases coreboot support for the Intel Atom E3800 (formerly Bay Trail) SoC(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 12 June 2014 Release date- 11062014 - Sage Electronic Engineering has released its coreboot support for the Bayley Bay mainboard, written by coreboot engineer Martin Roth, to the open source community website (www.coreboot.org). 'The open source boot initialization is an important component of a 707-millisecond boot to a Linux operating system kernel that Sage has developed for the Intel Atom E3800 SoC (System on a Chip),' Roth said. The Sage solution employed Intel's Firmware Support Package on the Bay Trail I SoC, supported commercial releases under the Atom, Pentium and Celeron brands. Previous Bayley Bay coreboot solutions for the Bay Trail M and D configurations have been released by Google employing Intel's Memory Reference Code. Coreboot programming by Sage, which designs open source firmware solutions and products, was initially a co-development with Intel as part of the Fast Boot solution for time-critical applications.
