CMTC Launches New Peer Council Groups for Manufacturers

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

California Manufacturing Technology Consulting® (CMTC) launched its first Peer Council meeting in Rancho Cucamonga today from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for small manufacturers. On June 18th, an initial Peer Council will also be held for large manufacturers at Goodyear Rubber also in Rancho Cucamonga from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Peer Council meetings are by invitation only and these meetings will introduce the Peer Council concept to invited manufacturers in the region.

"The Peer Councils are part of CMTC's commitment to serve the manufacturing community by providing executives a forum to share valuable information, discuss common challenges and collaboratively develop solutions," stated Jim Watson, President and CEO of CMTC.

A Peer Council is a member-driven group of "C-level" manufacturing executives meeting each month to support, educate and learn from one another. Each Peer Council consists of eight (8) to ten (10) non-competitive manufacturers. This means each member will represent their particular industry (e.g. food industry, aerospace, plastics, etc.). In addition, the Peer Councils are organized by the size of the company one for small manufacturers and one for large manufacturers. Manufacturing executives will share success stories, propoe challenges and issues, gain insights, information, strategies and solutions. There is a formal application process and review before a manufacturer can join a Peer Council.

"We are pleased to host the first CMTC Peer Council Meeting at our new facility in Rancho Cucamonga and look forward to the beneficial outcomes of this program," stated Christian Groche, President of Goodyear Rubber. "What makes the CMTC Peer Council interesting to me is their focus on manufacturing only. I have been involved in other round table or forum groups with a variety of businesses. But, many of the needs and challenges we face are unique to the manufacturing sector and to be with a body of my peers is very exciting for me," he continued.

"Additional Peer Council groups will be established throughout Southern California and our next Peer Council will be launched in the Ventura area in late summer. Other MEP Centers across the nation have created similar groups and they have been quite successful in addressing and solving common issues in this collaborative environment," stated David Moates, Manager from CMTC.
