Smart Grid Veteran Edwin Liu Joins Nexant Management TeamSAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- Nexant announced today that Dr. Edwin Liu has joined the company as Senior VP of Smart Grid and Grid Management. Reporting to Terry Fry, Nexant Senior VP of Utility Services, Liu will develop and direct advanced grid management solution and strategy initiatives. He joins Nexant after six years as VP of Strategy Initiatives and Smart Grid at Quanta Technology, the energy and utility consulting arm of Quanta Services. "Edwin has extensive expertise in all aspects of smart grid technology and strategy," Fry said. "His experience in smart grid including advanced technology system integration; distributed energy resources management; micro-grids; and transmission and distribution systems optimization are very well-aligned with our srvice and software offerings." He is an IEEE (News - Alert) Fellow and also serves as an advisor to the University of California (Los Angeles) Smart Grid Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California (Berkeley) and a B.S. in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University.
