Data Foundry Bolsters Presence in Virginia [Manufacturing Close - Up](Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Data Foundry, a provider of data center colocation, disaster recovery and managed services, recently reported that it is expanding its Ashburn, Virginia presence by deploying a colocation business suite inside Equinix's DC10 data center. According to a release, the business suite allows Data Foundry to meet the growing demand from its customers for managed services and managed colocation in Northern Virginia's "Data Center Alley." The region is one of the largest Internet exchange points in the United States. It also gives Data Foundry access to a high concentration of IT, telecommunications, biotech, federal government, and international organizations in the region. Current Data Foundry customers, such as Apptix, a premier provider of hosted business communication, collaboration, and IT solutions, have already signed up for space in DC10. "Having partnered with Data Foundry for several years in Austin, we're excited that Data Foundry is expanding its capabilities within our Northern Virginia backyard," said Peter Walther, Vice President of Business Operation, Apptix, Inc. "The proximity between our corporate headquarters in Herndon and their new Ashburn data center enables Apptix to more effectively leverage Data Foundry's capabilities to enhance our service for our blue-chip channel partners and global customer base." Data Foundry noted that Equinix's DC10 is a carrier-neutral data center that includes N+1 redundancy on all infrastructure, remote hands support, multi-megawatt capacity, multiple levels of security and advanced fire suppression systems.
