ZTE Cloud Service Adopts the StarLeaf Service Provider Platform to Deliver Video Conferencing to the 14 Million SMEs Across China

LONDON --(Business Wire)--

StarLeaf, cloud video conferencing service provider and manufacturer, today announced a strategic partnership with ZTE (News - Alert) Cloud Service, a wholly owned subsidiary of ZTE, China's leading telecommunications equipment manufacturer. Under this agreement ZTE Cloud Service will bring StarLeaf's products and services to market under the StarMeeting brand, targeting China's 14 million SME businesses.

The partnership is expected to generate rapidly growing sales for both companies, and help ZTE Cloud Service to establish a leading position in China's video collaboration market.

"ZTE Cloud Service came to us with a very bold vision to drive video collaboration services and products into China's largely untouched SME market," said StarLeaf CEO, Mark Loney. "Until now, providing video conferencing equipment and services, on such a scale, and to customers who typically have no in-house technical know-how, has been impractical and prohibitively expensive. By combining our Service Provider Platform and operational support with ZTE Cloud Service's deep market knowledge, these barriers no longer stand in the way of widespread video adoption in China."

Through the deployment of the StarLeaf Service Provider Platform, ZTE Cloud Service has a fully localized video collaboration solution that enables it to offer its own brand of video conferencing services alongside a range of tightly integrated video endpoints for meeting rooms, executive desktops and mobile users. ZTE Cloud Service's customers will benefit from a powerful solution that also allows them to collaborate with their partners, suppliers and customers no matter what video equipmnt they use.

"Our sole aim is to bring video conferencing within the reach of millions of businesses in China and the only way to do this cost-effectively, is by delivering a cloud service," said Wang Dongming, General Manager, ZTE Cloud Service. "StarLeaf's Service Provider Platform has made it possible for ZTE Cloud Service to get to market fast and first, with a cost effective, high performance and fully localized solution that has no equivalent in terms of price-performance or reliability. From this point forward, we are the only service provider in China that has the scale and reach needed to be successful within the SME sector."

"As both a cloud video service provider and a hardware manufacturer, StarLeaf has carved out a unique position in the video conferencing as a service industry," stated Andrew W. Davis, Sr. Partner and co-founder of Wainhouse (News - Alert) Research. "With StarLeaf's platform behind them, ZTE Cloud Service is well positioned to grow quickly in the Chinese market."

Under the terms of the partnership, ZTE Cloud Service has deployed the StarLeaf Service Provider Platform in its own datacenters, enabling it to offer a fully multi-tenanted, branded and localized version of StarLeaf's feature-rich video conferencing service. ZTE Cloud Service will also rebrand the StarLeaf portfolio of endpoints, to deliver its customers a complete solution that includes hardware video systems for meeting rooms and desktops, and software clients for mobile users. The StarLeaf solution works with other manufacturers' video equipment including Microsoft Lync, Cisco, Polycom (News - Alert), LifeSize and other H.323, SIP and PSTN devices.
