BAE Systems and Infor Partner [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BAE Systems and Infor announced a new strategic partnership to deliver and install Infor's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions for the U.S. government.

According to a release, ERP software can consolidate networks by integrating departments and functions across an organization or agency onto one computer system.

BAE Systems noted its highly skilled and cleared analysts and engineers will install and operate Infor software solutions purchased by federal agencies, helping expand Infor's business with the U.S. government. These systems include the Infor Public Sector (Hansen) suite, Infor ION, Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Infor Lawson, and Infor Approva.

"We offer our customers improved operational efficiency at reduced cost," said DeEtte Gray, president of BAE Systems' Intelligence & Security sector. "By leveraging Infor's software solutions with BAE Systems' experience in integrating human resource information and payroll systems for the Intelligence Community, we will deliver our customers enhanced system functionality and boost their productivity, while also maintaining their strict security requirements." Infor has a 30-year manufacturing and distribution legacy for ERP systems within the aerospace, automotive, chemical, electronics, food and beverage, and industrial manufacturing sectors. In addition to this partnership, BAE Systems has invested in a new Infor products lab that will provide BAE Systems technical experts and customers with enhanced knowledge of Infor's ERP systems, enabling them to develop best practices for system integration. It will also serve as a formal system training environment for BAE Systems' network analysts, operators, and engineers who will be installing and maintaining Infor products purchased by the U.S. government.

"Our relationship with BAE Systems is truly unique because we will work with them on both the customer and partner level going forward," said Lynn Sauder, vice president of Global Alliances and Channels at Infor. "This will give BAE Systems an unprecedented opportunity to utilize Infor applications as well as provide them to customers in the U.S. public sector market with a first-hand account of how Infor technology can change the way you work." BAE Systems' Military Air and Information business is integrating Infor applications across numerous business locations in the United Kingdom. The company is currently implementing Infor LN, Infor EAM and Infor Warehouse Mobility, along with Infor ION, Infor Business Intelligence (BI) and components of Infor Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management (d/EPM), with project completion anticipated in 2016.

BAE Systems is a global defense, aerospace and security company.
