Panasonic seeks to capture 28pc of projector market [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]
(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR: Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd expects to increase its share in Malaysia's projector market to 28 per cent by the end of financial year 2015 from 23 per cent currently.
The company targets to sell more than 20,000 units of its projectors worth about RM30 million in the financial year ending March next year.
Managing director Yosuke Matsunaga said some 45 per cent of the segment's total sales were derived from ultra portable and short throw category.
Matsunaga said more innovative projector models will be introduced in the market, backed by strong marketing campaign.
"We will be working closely with our extensive dealership network to reach out to customers nationwide," he told a media conference after the launch of a new line-up of ultra portable and short throw liquid-crystal display projectors, the LB360 and TW341R series.
Matsunaga said the company will be having more product training to level up the engineering skills of its business partners and to teach endusers on how to fully utilise all of the key features.
"More customer engagement activities will also be carried out," he said, adding that Panasonic Malaysia has set aside about RM1 million for its promotional activities.
The new LCD projectors are expected to further enhance Panasonic's comprehensive range of projectors, in line with its aim to be one-stop visual solution provider.
The PT-LB360 ultra portable LCD projecter series consists of six models with brightness levels ranging from 2,800 lumens to 3,700 lumens brightness.
The PT-TW341R short throw series consists of six models with brightness levels ranging from 2,800 lumens to 3,500 lumens, with one model that comes with built-in interactive function.
