ACT-IAC Voyagers Announces 2014 Graduating ClassCAMBRIDGE, Md. --(Business Wire)-- The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), the premier public-private partnership in the government IT community, today announced the successful completion of the Voyagers Program by the 9th graduating class in program history. The Voyagers Program is a highly competitive leadership development program for mid-level professionals with a 1:1 ratio of government and industry participants, preparing them for future leadership roles within their respective organizations. The 2013-2014 Voyagers graduates completed the program at the 34th Annual Management of Change (MOC) training and education event held in Cambridge, Md. "The 2014 ACT-IAC (News - Alert) Voyagers graduates join a distinguished list of past participants who embody the spirit of the program, which is to shape government and industry management and relationships for the public benefit. The 24 'rising stars' each embody a willingness and desire to reach across the fence in an effort to enhance citizen services," said Donald Staren-Doby, Voyagers Program Government Chair. He added, "The government and industry chairs and vice chairs, their individual agencies and companies and the ACT-IAC staff all believe that developing and guiding a new breed of civil servant is a real and powerful way to make a lasting impact on the federal government and the industries that assist it. We are all very proud of the 2014 Voyager's class and expect great things from them!" The Voyager participants undergo a nine-month program that provides a facilitated and trusted partnership between government and industry. After successfully completing the program, graduates received Continuing Education Units and will continue their executive development as members of the ACT-IAC Fellows community - a trusted, collaborative network made up of over 600 government and industry executives. "The 2014 Voyagers class planned and brought in top-notch eaders to learn from, participated in community service events, and for the first time this year, culminated their journey by taking an active role in conducting ACT-IAC MOC sessions," said Kendall Holbrook, Voyagers Program Industry Chair. Donald Staren-Doby, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Kendall Holbrook, of Dev Technology Group, were this year's Voyagers Program co-chairs. Both are alumni of the Voyagers program. Vice Chairs this year included Naveen Krishnamurthy of RIVA Solutions, Inc., Jolene Merkel of the Federal Aviation Administration, Tanya Swart of CGI (News - Alert) Federal and Julie Trencher of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. ACT-IAC also announced the opening of applications for the 2015 Voyagers Program. Applications will be available on June 25, 2014 for the 2015 Voyagers Class.
