www.samsung.com Energy and cost-efficient storage SHUTTLE Computer has launched the KS10 storage solution for NAS (network attached storage) entry-level users. The Shuttle KS10 is suitable for documents, music, videos and photos on the local network, paving the way for location-independent data backup, as well as letting you set up your own private cloud.

Consumption is less than 6W in standby mode and 12W during normal operation, making it a particularly frugal machine in terms of power consumption. The KS10 is a fanless device, so it is suitable for 3.5 inch hard disks up to at least 4TB in capacity, with the ability to hook up to other external storage devices and a printer, thanks to the inclusion of USB ports. Devices are connected via USB cable, while you can also plug in memory cards into the built-in SD card reader so that content can be shared over the network.

The Gigabit Ethernet network connection also comes in handy if you want to transfer large amounts of data, with data transfer speeds of up to 80MB/s when reading and up to 60MB/s when writing. An integrated, access-protected WiFi hotspot can be enabled whenever you need to "talk" to wireless devices. It takes but a few simple steps to set up. It also offers simple server services for FTP, DLNA and iTunes. Other functions include Wake-On LAN, energy-efficient Ethernet and a scheduler for NAS operating time. Just in case you were wondering, the LEDs can also be switched off for unobtrusive use when at home. The Shuttle Omninas KS10 has a recommended retail price of 81 euros (RM359.72).

Its latest flagship smartphone, Ascend P7, is a new 4G LTE- enabled smartphone that sports a 5-inch Full HD display at 445ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front and rear covers, an industry-leading 8MP front-facing camera as well as a 13MP camera at the back, the latest intuitive Emotion UI 2.3 running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
