United States : DE-CIX New York Expands into Two Telx New York City Data Centers [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Telx, a leading provider of global interconnectivity, data center solutions and cloud enablement services, today announced the expansion of DE-CIX New York s Internet exchange services to two of its six New York City metro data centers, NYC1 and NYC2. DE-CIX will offer Internet Service Providers (ISPs), carriers and other Telx customers additional opportunities for network management by expanding peering to multinational enterprises, increasing options for the low-latency transfer of data, as well as business continuity via a single cross connect.

DE-CIX New York, a subsidiary of DE-CIX, the leading operator of Ethernet-based carrier and ISP interconnection worldwide, is a carrier- and data center-neutral Internet exchange distributed across several carrier hotels and data centers throughout the NY/NJ metro area. The exchange supports peering for the Internet ecosystem, from broadband networks and hosting providers to content distributors and cloud computing players.

When expanding an Internet exchange, we look to where our prospects and customers need us, said Frank Orlowski, Chief Marketing Officer for DE-CIX. The New York/New Jersey metro area continues to act as a global hub for communications, and this agreement with Telx, which provides strategically located facilities in the heart of Manhattan, marks a milestone for our expansion in the region.

For internet exchanges such as DE-CIX, location is everything. They need to be able to offer services as close to the heart of digital commerce as possible, said Tony Rossabi, Senior Vice President, Service Provider Markets at Telx. With multiple access points available in Telx s New York City data center facilities, DE-CIX is now able to provide a scalable infrastructure with highly secure and resilient connectivity to its customers throughout the metro area.

The following Telx data center facilities, with significant network-centric capacities, are now supporting DE-CIX s customer base throughout the New York/New Jersey metro area: NYC1 (60 Hudson Street) is recognized as one of the most important interconnection and colocation facilities not just in New York City, but also globally serving as the nerve center for international communications, offering access to physical connection points to the world s largest telecommunications networks and Internet backbones. NYC2 (111 8th Avenue) is a premier North American data center, located in New York City. Telx is the leading interconnection and colocation provider at this location, giving clients the opportunity to connect with hundreds of leading networks and businesses within the Telx global ecosystem.
