Unilever Rewards Retailers in Lagos, Ibadan

(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Four winners have emerged at the just concluded Knorr and Royco visibility driver promo, aimed at rewarding strategic trade partners in the continued shelf presence and easy accessibility of the two products.

The winners based in Lagos and Ibadan, Oyo State became car owners, as they were presented with their prizes at Oke-Arin, Bodija and Gbagi markets in Lagos and Oyo states respectively.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Lagos, Kalpesh Palmer, Customer Marketing Director, Unilever Nigeria, said the offer was in recognition of the strategic roles that distributors and retailers play in the distribution chain and the shelf presence that the two brands enjoy, adding that a separate offer directed at consumers was also in the offing.

"Unilever Nigeria is a company that appreciates Nigeria and Nigerians. This is why we are constantly rewarding the loyalty that Nigerians have always extended to us. The offer today is directed at Retailers; however, there is another promotion which is directed at our numerous consumers," Palmer disclosed.

Customer Marketing Manager Foods, Olufolake Awe, explained that the promo held in 60 markets in Lagos, South West, North East, North West, Middle Belt, North Central, South East and South South regions, explaining that the retailers were required to purchase a minimum of 10 cartons of a combination of Royco and Knorr cubes weekly for 12 weeks, noting that top two retailers with the highest purchase and display in the six regions won brand new Hyundai i10 while one each was won by top retailer in the North East and North West regions. The promo, she said, was part of Unilever's efforts to reward loyal retailers for their continued patronage and loyalty.

One of the winners, Mrs. Oyindamola Salam, said she has been a long standing trade partner of Unilever, adding that the brand new car was a befitting reward for her long years of trading in Knorr and Royco products.

"I have been a Unilever trade partner for over 20 years and it has been a rewarding experience. The car gift is indeed a pleasant surprise and I remain grateful to Unilever. It is a befitting reward for my trading on the brands over the years," she said.
