Anite is in talks to sell its travel software arm to private equity

(City A.M. (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SOFTWARE company Anite is getting closer to selling its travel unit, reportedly starting exclusive talks with private equity group LDC.

Anite confirmed in February that it was working with advisers at Evercore Partners to weigh up options for the unit including a sale.

The FTSE 250 firm's travel business offers booking, content management and other software to holiday companies. It generated revenues of £19.4m and operating profits of £4.8m in the year to 30 April 2013, out of group revenues of £132.5m and profit of £34.5m.

The Telegraph reported yesterday that Carlyle and ECI had previously taken a look at the business.

LDC declined to comment yesterday while Anite could not be reached for comment.
