ZTE Achieves Broadband Forum BBF.069 Certification

DURHAM, N.H. --(Business Wire)--

ZTE (News - Alert) announced today that its powerful home gateway device the ZXHN H368N CPE has achieved BBF.069 CPE Certification, verifying that the device conforms with the Broadband Forum's (News - Alert) TR-069 protocol for remote management.

TR-069 is a global remote management standard, recommended by the ITU-T, used to provision and manage Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) in the connected home. TR-069 let's broadband service providers remotely configure and troubleshoot devices in the home, resulting in lower operational costs and better customer service.

The Broadband Forum BBF.069 CPE Certification indicates that the CPE device adheres to the Broadband Forum's TR-069 specifications. Service providers selecting certified CPE devices for deployment are more confident the CPE will interoperate with their Auto-Configuration Servers (ACS (News - Alert)).

"We congratulate ZTE on their product's successful bid for BBF.069 CPE Certification and for their company's continued commitment to adherence to global standards. Certification provides a key indication that this product is market ready," said Robin Mersh, CEO of the Broadband Forum.

According to the 2013 year-end figures published by the Broadband Forum, there are more than 678 million broadband subscribers today, which is an overall growth of better than 6%. As the number of broadband subscribers, services, and devices grow globally, there's a pressing need to ensure interoperability and management.

To achieve BBF.069 CPE Certification, a CPE device must pass all mandatory test cases within the TR-069 Conformance Test Plan. The University of New Hampshire-InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL (News - Alert)) is the official testing lab for the program.

"We are pleased to see that the number of certified devices is growing. Vendors dedicated to global standards enable the future of interoperability within the connected home eco-system. The UNH-IOL technical team continues to uphold our commitment to offer a high quality testing program for this certification," said Erica Johnson, Director for the UH-IOL.

The ZXHN H368N is an internet gateway device dedicated to the following services: HSI, IPTV, VoIP, and Home Media Sharing. This device is one of many in ZTE's broad product portfolio for Home Networking and Broadband CPE devices.
