Interstate Distributor Modernizes Its Fleet with SkyBitz Trailer and Cargo Management Technology Solutions to Improve Utilization and Efficiencies

HERNDON, Va. --(Business Wire)--

SkyBitz®, the leader in remote asset tracking and information management solutions, today announced that Interstate Distributor, a leading provider of transportation services to Fortune 500 companies, has chosen asset management technology solutions from SkyBitz (News - Alert) for its entire fleet of trailers. Interstate Distributor selected the new subscription-based enterprise solution, SkyBitz as a Service, allowing implementation to begin immediately with no upfront capital expense. SkyBitz as a Service will enable Interstate Distributor to start seeing a faster return on investment achieved through driving more efficient utilization across their entire trailer fleet and reduce its capital expenditures.

"We were looking to employ a solution that supports our goals to improve utilization, customer service and driver retention. Adding trailer tracking solutions from SkyBitz is a key step to modernizing our fleet and investing in the company's future," said CEO and President, Marc Rogers. "Interstate Distributor is transforming as a company and the SkyBitz solution drives incremental value within our service network while also supporting safety and satisfaction for our drivers."

Interstate Distributor is installing SkyBitz's newestcellular mobile terminal technology, the Falcon GXT3000, plus cargo sensors, which provides Interstate and its customers with real-time visibility to the location and load status of all its trailers. The combination of location plus cargo sensor data allows for better load planning, faster turn times, and more accurate detention billing. It also helps prevent driver frustration and associated wasted hours and empty miles from searching for trailers. The comprehensive solution also enables Interstate to centrally monitor and track dispatch and trailer status through SkyBitz's deep integration with their TMS provider. The ability to view asset and dispatch information from one screen helps managers save time finding available trailers for load assignment and a faster reconciliation of any location discrepancies. This will help Interstate better monitor its customers' freight and enable shippers to check on the status of loads.

"As we learned more about Interstate's business goals we've been impressed with their transformation story and are excited to join them as a strategic partner in this process. The ability to quickly locate assets and check load status will increase the profitability of each trailer and improve Interstate's customer service - giving them a key competitive advantage," said Henry Popplewell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, SkyBitz. "Now with SkyBitz as a Service, Interstate can more easily deploy our solutions across their entire fleet and start realizing the ROI even faster because there's no upfront investment."
