Allied Minds Names Peter Dolan and Jeff Rohr to Board of Directors


BOSTON --(Business Wire)--

Allied Minds, a dedicated technology commercialization firm that develops businesses and products based on innovative technologies developed at US universities and federal research institutions, today announced the appointment of Peter Dolan and Jeff Rohr as new members of its Board of Directors, effectively immediately.

Peter Dolan, a former Chairman and CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., is joining as a Senior Non-Executive Director at Boston-based Allied Minds. Jeff Rohr, who has served as Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Deloitte (News - Alert) LLP, is joining as Allied Minds' Audit Committee Chairman as well as a Non-Executive Director.

Allied Minds offers an institutionalized approach to the commercialization of innovations developed at federal and university research centers by providing the funding, management and shared-service support needed to foster the development of businesses and products. Dolan and Rohr each bring senior management experience that will benefit Allied Minds' expanding businesses in the life science and physical science sectors.

Dolan has more than three decades of operating experience, including 18 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He later served as Chairman and CEO of Gemin X, a venture capital-backed oncology company, until its successful sale. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Partnership for a Healthier America and is Chairman of ChildObesity180, an organization he co-founded.

Rohr's career at Deloitte included overseeing strategy, business planning, financial reporting, treasury and risk management as well as leading the Firm's Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. He is currently a member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of American Express (News - Alert) Centurion Bank, and is Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board at Florida State University.


Allied Minds has developed a relationship with 56 US institutions with whom it works to commercialize scientific research. These include universities such as Columbia, Brown and the University of Michigan, as well as University of California campuses such as UCLA, UC Irvine and UC Davis. They also include almost two-dozen federal government research centers, ranging from The Aerospace Corporation (News - Alert) and The MITRE Corporation to Sandia National Lab and the US Air Force Research Laboratory.
