True full of enterprise [Bangkok Post, Thailand :: ]

(Bangkok Post (Thailand) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) April 23--True Corporation expects its revenue from enterprise customers will grow by 10% to 11 billion baht this year as companies expand upcountry in preparation for implementation of the Asean Economic Community late next year.

Mobile application use from enterprise customers grew by 25% last year thanks to nationwide third-generation (3G) network expansion and fibre-optic networks, said Songtham Phianpattanawit, executive director for enterprise customers and international services.

True is providing a full range of telecommunications services ranging from fixed-line telephones to mobile phones, broadband internet and international internet gateway services.

The company has 120,000 enterprise customers including 3,000 international and SET-listed companies. About 90% of customers are in Bangkok.

True's enterprise customers consist of five segments: large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), educational institutions, government agencies and property companies.

Mr Songtham said True will focus more on enterprises in provincial markets and operating at industrial estates now that 3G and 4G mobile broadband networks are expanding to the areas.

"We have a 20% share in the local enterprise market worth about 50 billion baht a year," he said.

True is looking for new business opportunities in Asean.

One such opportunity will be a licence to operate an internet gateway service in Myanmar.

Mr Songtham said enterprises are increasingly demanding new applications such as iCatalog, an application on iPad that provides interactive presentation for companies; iDirectory, a company phonebook application for smartphones via cloud computing that allows users to communicate without an intranet requirement; and iMeeting, video conference software that allows real business mobility.

"We expect to see at least 10% revenue growth annually in the coming years," he said.

Shares of TRUE closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 6.95 baht, up 10 satang, in trade worth 701 million baht.
