Burundi : SMART TELECOM BURUNDI re-launches mobile network services [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Smart Telecom Burundi has announced re-launch of its mobile network services under the Smart brand shared with the East African operators in Uganda and Tanzania.

As part of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) Kenya backs the Smart brand in partnership with Cyprus-based, Russian-owned Timeturns Holdings.

Followed by the late-March launch, Smart Burundi started marketing its revamped services on its Facebook social networking site.

Smart Burundi has announced to provide comprehensive mobile internet and voice services.




IPS hold majority shares in Afghanistan operator Roshan and a stakeholder in TCell in Tajikistan. The AKFED division owns the largest investment stake in the Seacom submarine cable. Operational interests of Timeturns' include investments in mobile operators in Nepal, Cambodia, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
