Zambia : HUAWEI officially launches construction of 169 mobile towers in rural ZAMBIA [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Chinese telecommunications major Huawei has officially launched the construction of 169 mobile towers in under-served rural parts of Zambia.

The country's Vice President Dr Guy Scott and other state and Huawei officials formally launched the first tower at Matanda in Zambia's Luapula Province on Thursday.

Huawei is building base stations as part of a Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) 'Universal Access Project' to construct 169 towers in all rural parts of the country's ten provinces.



All towers would be built by October 2014.

Huawei Technologies Zambia managing director Spawn Fan Wen said :"Through our dedicated effort and commitment to the Zambian market, we endeavor to work with local partners towards improved network quality, affordable rates and more value-added services for the benefit of the people of Zambia."
