US firm dials up 333 call centre jobs [Ulster Region] [Mirror (UK)](Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MORE than 300 call centre jobs are to be created after an investment by a US firm, it was revealed yesterday. The move by Convergys will be a major employment boost for Derry and the 333 staff will help customers of mobile phone network EE. The firm was the first to bring 4G coverage to the UK and is the only provider in Northern Ireland. Invest NI has offered Pounds 1.5million towards the project while Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said the investment would generate Pounds 5million for the local economy every year. MP Mark Durkan said the development "is a vote of confidence in Derry as an investment location and recognition of the calibre of the local workforce".
